I see you. You’re the planner, the organizer, the one who finally got everyone in the same place at the same time. You’re balancing busy schedules, different households, and the hope that this moment together doesn’t slip by unnoticed.
You want more than a group photo. You want to preserve the laughter that fills the space, the quiet connections between grandparents and grandchildren, and the way your family comes together when it truly matters.
Extended family portraits should be more than posed images. They should reflect the relationships, history, and love that live between generations. These are the photographs that will be framed in homes, passed down, and returned to year after year—reminders of a season when everyone was together.
My role is to lead your session with calm, confident direction so you can be fully present. From guiding large groups to capturing smaller, meaningful moments, I create an experience that feels organized, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable.
Join the many families who trust this Lancaster-based extended family photographer to document their most meaningful gatherings. Let’s create something timeless—together.

While this is your family, I know that it's made up of so many smaller family units that needs & deserve their own time to shine! While the big family unit holds such an importance to the family over all, each individual family is just as important to those in it. Every family is given individual focus during their time, to make sure everyone shines!
There's a certain flow that we should follow during family portraits with the goal to be efficient while giving everyone a positive experience! We're not jumping around willy nilly, we're following a workflow that has worked for HUNDREDS of families!
How helpful it is really if I show up with a camera & ask you to arrange your family members? That's just giving you an additional task, and that's not what this session is about.
I have no problem speaking to large groups, directing brothers & cousins to move around & place families in the best lighting (even if that means taking a little extra sass from your cousin Sarah!
Photographing large families isn't just about showing up with a camera! It requires...
Sure- the top of a mountain would offer STUNNING photos! But will grandma & the 3 month old baby (and her parents) really appreciate that? Instead of asking people to push themselves to get the most artistic shot, I meet everyone where they're at physically. We're not asking anyone to climb up a mountain, instead we're meeting at the base of it and creating stunning photos where we're at with the people who make it the most special place on earth.
It takes someone with confidence to lead a group of 60+ people, but you will see me taking charge with the kids & the cousins who just don't feel like showing up 100%. Your time is incredibly important, and I don't take it for granted. We create portraits in a timely manner, where your family is not only guided with kindness but also efficiency.
Clients Don't Like Me, They Love Me
She responded quickly with answers to all my questions. At the shoot she was great with the kids and working with a large group. She also made us all laugh in the process. She suggested amazing locations for the shoot, shared her ideas and gave directions for poses but also took all of our suggestions.
"She made us all laugh in the process"
"Miranda did a wonderful job taking our extended family photos. I would definitely recommend her to any families looking to capture a moment in time."
"She made what could’ve been a daunting task FUN!"
Miranda made a large beach family photo shoot absolutely seamless with her adaptability (and quiet honestly her incredible ability to handle chaos 🤪) Her communication before and after the shoot was perfect and we loved the user-friendly platform she used for us to view and purchase our pictures.
